Why SFTP?

While tabular data can be retrieved from the web interface directly as CSV files, larger set of files such as imaging and omics data are to be retrieved using SFTP.

Also releasing a formal version of the Imagen web portal is not straightforward. For lack of resources we haven’t been able to release a new version of the database with new data and fixes for almost 3 years. Some important data fixes have been made informally available through SFTP – mainly Psytools, Dawba and the new demographics table.

Access data using SFTP

Instead of a web browser, you will need an SFTP client such as WinSCP or FileZilla.

As an example, we provide a screen capture of the WinSCP Login dialog, set up to access the Imagen server:

Important parameters are:

  • File protocol: SFTP
  • Host name: imagen2.cea.fr
  • User name: same as web portal
  • Password: same as web portal

After login WinSCP shows your home folder in the left panel and the remote folder with the Imagen data on the imagen2.cea.fr server in the right panel:

Data can download much like in any file browser, by moving files and folders from the right panel to the left panel.
